1 in 3 women are violently attacked or raped in their lifetime. Is this a statistic that we can accept? Or will you join One Billion Rising?

Why should we Rise?

14th February 2013, one billion all over the world are rising. The One Billion Rising campaign has evoked interest, passion and commitment all over the world. Over 199 countries have pledged to rise. This is a global strike to demand the end of violence against women. An act of solidarity to make it clear that our collective strength will not be overpowered.

Together we can be heard. Violence against women is not to be accepted, sexual abuse is not a justified cause of action.

We can dance, we can sing, we can cause a revolution. Flash mobs are being organised all over the world to ‘Break Chain’. One Billion together all over the world will unite. This revolution is already in progress, the rise has attracted all names, all walks of life.

Men are joining in too. This is not a woman’s fight against all men, it is humanity’s fight against injustice and inequality that must end today.
